LexisNexis Risk Solutions
A data company whose consumer reports, including C.L.U.E. insurance claims histories, are used by insurers and other businesses.
LexisNexis is one of the specialty consumer reporting companies people rarely think about until a quote or application stalls. Its C.L.U.E. report lists insurance claims tied to you or a property, and insurers use claims history when pricing home and auto policies. Nationwide specialty agencies covering insurance claims must give you a free file disclosure once every 12 months on request, and you can dispute errors under the FCRA.
LexisNexis says it places and lifts security freezes free of charge, and its freeze is separate from your credit bureau freezes. A freeze there can slow you down when you're the one shopping for insurance, so if a quote stalls, ask whether your LexisNexis freeze is the cause. Pull your claims history before buying a home or switching insurers.
