Payment rating
A Metro 2 code sent along with the account status that records how far behind an account was for the reporting period.
CDIA's Metro 2 training lists payment rating among the payment status fields, alongside account status and the payment history profile, and pairs it with account status in an exhibit of the industry manual. Public field references show values running from current through 30-day steps of delinquency, plus collection and charge-off. The rating has to agree with the account status and the amount past due.
You won't see the field name on a consumer report. You see it translated into the account's rating, such as current, 30 days late or charged off. If that rating contradicts the payment grid, the status or your own records, the mismatch is something specific to dispute, with statements or payment confirmations as proof.
