Metro 2 ECOA code Z: delete consumer from account
An instruction rather than a designation. The furnisher tells the bureau to remove one person from the account because that person was attached to it in error. The account keeps reporting for everyone else. It's narrower than the DA status code, which deletes the whole account for everyone on it.
How it shows on your report
You won't see the code. The account disappears from that person's report.
How it affects your score
Removes the account's history from the affected person's scores.
What to check
After a dispute that a joint or authorized-user account isn't yours, the account should vanish from your report while staying on the other person's. If it disappears and later returns, ask the lender why its system re-added you.
