Metro 2 compliance condition code XJ: closed by consumer, billing dispute open
You closed the account yourself and you have an open billing dispute on it under the Fair Credit Billing Act. It combines the consumer-closed code with the billing-dispute code XF, so both facts show. A closed card can still carry a disputed charge from before it was closed.
How it shows on your report
Both a consumer-closed remark and a billing-dispute remark.
How it affects your score
Same considerations as other dispute flags.
What to check
When the billing dispute ends, the dispute part should drop off and leave the consumer-closed code. Check that the disputed charge isn't reported as a late payment while the dispute is pending, and that the closed account's balance matches your final statement.
