Payment rating codes

Metro 2 payment rating code 6: 180 or more days past due when reported

What code 6 means

When the account's status describes an ending, such as transferred, paid or closed, deed in lieu or foreclosure, this rating says the account was 180 or more days past due at that moment. Lenders also send the rating with other statuses, where it should simply agree with them.

How it shows on your report

Rarely shown as its own field. It shapes how a closed account's final status reads and the last month in the payment grid.

How it affects your score

Shows the account ended or transferred while delinquent, which counts as a late in payment history even though the account is now closed.

What to check

Check that the date of first delinquency reflects the first missed payment that was never caught up, roughly six months or more earlier. That date sets when the item leaves your report, so a later date would keep it there too long.
