Payment history profile characters
Metro 2 payment history profile character D: no history reported this month
The account existed, but the lender sent no payment status for this month. Lenders also use it for months when payments were deferred, such as an approved deferment or a disaster-related payment accommodation. Lenders that switched account systems sometimes leave D months in the converted history as well.
How it shows on your report
A blank box, ND, "no data" or a dash, depending on the bureau.
How it affects your score
Not a late payment. A gap doesn't count against you as one.
What to check
A run of no-data months on an open, active account is worth a look, especially right before a late. If you had an approved deferment, those months should show as deferred or no data, not as lates.
