Metro 2 special comment code AH: purchased by another company
The account was sold to another company, which should now report it. It's common when lenders sell loan portfolios. The selling lender's tradeline should close out, and the buyer's tradeline should carry the balance and continue the history, using the same delinquency dates for any past-due debt.
How it shows on your report
A remark like "Purchased by another lender" or "Sold."
How it affects your score
Neutral.
What to check
The selling lender should show $0 owed after the sale. If both the seller and the buyer report an open balance on the same debt, one of them is double counting it, and you can dispute the duplicate with either the bureau or the furnisher.
