Special comment codes

Metro 2 special comment code C: paid by co-maker or guarantor

What code C means

The account was paid off by the co-maker or guarantor rather than the main borrower. Furnisher software allows it only with a paid status and a $0 balance. It tells a lender reading either person's report that the cosigner, not the main borrower, ended up covering the debt.

How it shows on your report

A remark like "Paid by co-maker" or "Paid by cosigner."

How it affects your score

Shows the debt was paid, but the delinquency that led to it still counts on both files.

What to check

The balance should be $0 and the status should be a paid status. If you were the cosigner who paid, your copy of the account should also show it as paid.
