Metro 2 special comment code CO: loan modified
The loan's terms were permanently changed, outside a federal government program. The new terms might lower the payment, extend the term or roll past-due amounts into the balance. It's the non-government counterpart to CN, and it describes a lasting change rather than a temporary arrangement.
How it shows on your report
A remark like "Loan modified."
How it affects your score
The remark isn't a late payment. Lates before the modification still count.
What to check
After the modification, the status should be current if you're making the new payments, and the scheduled payment and balance should match your agreement. Old past-due amounts folded into the balance shouldn't also show as past due.
